global facial rejuvenation

We know the UK is one of the leading areas of the world when it comes to groundbreaking facial rejuvenation procedures, but five surprising countries are becoming world leaders in particular fields, according to a news article.

The Independent newspaper spoke to plastic surgeon Jim Frame this month about cosmetic tourism who said, “…though some countries operate as destinations for those looking for cheaper procedures, some emerging markets are seeing a boom for particular operations.”
The plastic surgeons noted Dubai, Thailand, South Korea, India and even Iran are becoming cosmetic surgery ‘hot spots’ as well as America, where the ‘mummy makeover’ is now big business.

Most notably, South Korea has seen a boom in facial rejuvenation procedures, including facelift surgery. According to the article, South Korea now has the highest per capita rate of plastic surgery in the world, which has led to some calling the country to be arguably named the ‘global capital’ for plastic surgery, including facelift surgery.

It's not just facelifted surgery that’s on the rise in the region either, as other procedures relating to the face are also seeing a rise in popularity. Chin augmentation, rhinoplasty surgery and blepharoplasty and eyelid related procedures are becoming more and more commonplace.
Interestingly, the news article suggests Iran – a country once considered fairly conservative – is now one of the most popular destinations for nose reshaping surgery, such as rhinoplasty procedures.

According to recent statistics from the Iranian Association of Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeons says that of the 40,000 annual cosmetic procedures in the country, over 60 percent of them are rhinoplasty surgery and nose reshaping procedures.

Whilst cosmetic surgery is on the rise across the globe, where you choose to undergo facial rejuvenation procedures such as facelift surgery should be considered very carefully. Whilst surgery of the face may appear cheaper in other countries that should not be a deciding factor, says Mr Jag Chana.

“My advice to patients seeking cosmetic surgery, especially facial rejuvenation surgery such as facelifts, is to seek the advice of a UK plastic surgeon. The training and facilities offered by UK-based plastic surgery clinics are likely to be of higher quality, making your experience a safer one,” he explains.

“When it comes to cosmetic surgery procedures, patients should be aware of who is performing their treatment, as well as that surgeon’s medical qualifications and background. If you travel abroad for the treatment you may find the process tricky should you be unhappy with your results or service.”
