Obagi skin care
Obagi products are designed to minimise hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne and premature ageing.
Most Obagi products are prescription only. This is because Obagi uses strong medical components such as treinoin and hydroquinone. These and other ingredients penetrate all layers of the skin to improve cellular turnover, eradicate melanin agglomeration, increase collagen and bloodflow.
Therefore treatment begins with a medical consultation and skin assessment which is offered free of charge.
Obagi treatments provide an effective treatment for:
- Hyperpgmentation
- Melasma
- Sunspots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Open pores
- Adult Acne
There are three main types of Obagi treatments
- Obagi Nuderm Fx which treats hyperpigmentation, melasma, sunpots and smooths skin texture including fine lines and wrinkles and pores.
- Obagi Clenzderm which is a highly effective treatment for adult acne and controlling future breakouts
- Obagi Blue peel which is a medical grade TCA peel and treats pigmentation, fine lines and improves complexion
Obagi treatments are also recommended to maintain the results and skin quality for patients who have undergone facial surgery such as facelift, necklift or blepharoplasty.
What products would work best with my skin?
Because everyone has different skin it is best to talk to our specialist skin care nurse to obtain advice on which regime is best for you.
Can I use make up while using Obagi products ?
Yes after applying the Obagi products and the sunscreen you may use make-up as usual.
How long does it take until I see results ?
If you follow the advised skin care regime , you may see results within 8 to 12 weeks of starting the treatment.
Can I substitute or add products in a system regimen ?
Since we may customise your regimen it is very important that you work with our skin care specialist before you modify your skin care routine or switch out products.
Is Obagi good for my skin type / tone ?
There are Obagi products for every skin type and tone. It is best to speak with our skin care specialist.
What should I expect when using the Obagi system ?
It is normal to have flaky skin and redness in the first 6 to 8 weeks of treatment
How long do I have to use Obagi for a good result ?
Every skin is different and will vary from person to person,however, the indication is to use for at least 16 weeks but it may be used for up to 24 weeks for best results
